Bible Story House

This is an interactive programme for young children and their teachers, comprising a dramatised retelling of a Biblical narrative, interspersed with original songs and dances and followed by a range of exciting, age appropriate activities all relating to the story and enriching the environment of the pre-schooler.

The aim is two-fold: to give the children a living and memorable experience of their Biblical heritage and to transform the themes of the story into hands-on activities ranging over the whole Early Years curriculum. A further development of the Bible Story House Programme are Bible Story Sacks.

The AJE has presented its Bible Story House programme of Torah and Tanach stories to young children for the past seven years, each with its unique custom made resources. These colourful and evocative books, jigsaws and games are now available for hire and will add variety and interest to your telling of the Parsha or to preparation for Pesach or Shavuot. The children - and you - will have great fun using the ‘child friendly’ materials and learning at the same time!

The following ‘Story Sacks’ are available:

● Rivka at the Well
● Avraham and the Three Visitors
● Yaakov’s dream
● Yosef and his brothers
● Moshe in the Bulrushes
● Megillat Ruth

Each ‘sack’ contains a ‘Big Book’ with colourful illustrations and a simple text jigsaws made from the illustrations in the book a ‘child friendly’ version of the story, simplified, and still true to the sacred text educational games and toys, such as Velcro backed ‘Biblical’ figures for felt boards, glove puppets, simple board games. These vary from story to story.

A hand wound ‘picture story’ of Avraham and the three visitors – the children use the winder to see the pictures in sequence and can tell the story in their own words model Chuppah – 4ft high, 4 ft x 2 ft wide – adds a new dimension to imaginative play.
