Project Chesed Reaching Out
“Responsibility means turning our Judaism outwards toward our fellow Jews and our fellow humans” Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks.
Some of our projects are about supporting our members and our Jewish neighbours while others are about helping those in the wider world in which we are living.
At Pesach time we work with communities to encourage their members to collect up their Chametz, rather than throw it away, and we then link every shul to their local homeless hostel who are only too delighted to receive pre-arranged food donations.
At winter time we encourage individuals to donate warm winter items (new or used, but in good condition) including scarves, gloves, coats and blankets. We link individuals with their local homeless hostel who again are only too delighted to receive donations of this kind.
Please do contact me if you would like to get involved in any of our projects, or if you would like to tell me about the Chesed you have been doing.
