The United Synagogue

US Community Cares

Who are We?

US Community Cares was established in March 2000 to support the development of Care Groups in our synagogues. We act as a central resource unit providing information, training, support and advice to our care co-ordinators and volunteers

What Do We Offer?

We have initiated a 'Care in the Community Programme' which includes:

Training
Training seminars, information programmes and workshops which enable our care co-ordinators and volunteers to develop their skills and share valuable information and experience.

Networking
We provide a means of communication for all those presently engaged in supporting members across the Untied Synagogue communities. For example, forums for discussion and development and new initiatives.

The Care Matters Directory
This conprehensive resource contains useful information regarding care within the Jewish and wider community and is avaliable to care co-ordinators throughout all the United Synagogues communities.

How Can We Help You

US Community Cares assists Care Groups by recommending a range of services including home and hospital visits, home help, financial and legal advice, a care help line, bereavement befriending and more.

We Are Constantly Improving The Support We Offer By-

- Working with existing agencies that offer care and support.

- Liasing closely with other United Synagogue Departments.

- Sharing good practice.

- Listening and working with those engaged in the field of care.

- Referring individual members to the appropriate agency if required.
