Why does the United Synagogue run a Patrons Campaign?
In 2001 the Patrons Campaign was launched without a single patron. By the end of 2002 the United Synagogue had 40 patrons, an achievement that generated great encouragement and optimism within the organisation. By the end of 2005, the United Synagogue had over 200 patrons.
United Synagogue Fundraising runs the Patrons Campaign in the belief that major donors in our community feel a sense of responsibility for the health and welfare of the UK’s Jewish community.
We believe that as the United Synagogue has in its membership the largest number of UK Jews, major donors want to ensure that the United Synagogue is able to continue to attract thousands more young people into its family of communities and by doing so, make a critical difference to the long term health and wellbeing of the UK’s future community.
By becoming a patron, donors are substantially helping to ensure the vibrant and thriving community of the future.
Being a benefactor, sponsor or patron of a United Synagogue programme or project is a very special relationship that we wish to recognise. All donors are acknowledged on our corporate letter-headed paper.
Each year we hold a Patrons Dinner or reception. There is no charge for attending the Patrons Dinner and no appeal on the night. In previous years the Patrons Dinner has been hosted at The Chief Rabbi’s Residence and at the homes of generous supporters.
This evening is the United Synagogues opportunity to give patrons an inside track briefing of the progress of the organisation and of US projects, although we do keep the evening light with plenty of time for patrons to relax and socialise.
What Is Involved In Becoming A Patron
The Patrons Campaign has three levels of donors. These are:
● Benefactors – who donate £10,000+
● Sponsors – who donate between £5,000 and £9,999
● PATRONS – who donate between £1,000 and £4,999
If you are not a donor to the Patrons Campaign we hope that you will take this opportunity to accept an invitation to become one.
