ALEI TZION GAINS FULL US STATUS
Members of the United Synagogue last night voted overwhelmingly to grant Alei Tzion full membership Status within the United Synagogue Community. Set up five years ago by community members, the Hendon based Synagogue is one of the fastest growing communities in the UK.
Some of the areas members can now enjoy with full status include access to the Tribe Community Membership scheme which encourages 21-30 year old single Jews to join US member shuls and also the ability to network more with the US Rabbinate.
David Tapnack, Trustee of Alei Tzion, commented: “We are delighted that the United Synagogue has welcomed us to its community and look forward to being a part of US family. This will help Alei Tzion in moving our congregation forward and as our numbers continue to increase, we see this as the perfect time to become part of the wider community and as the next step in our vibrant development.
Simon Hochhauser, President of the United Synagogue, commented: “I and my colleagues are delighted to have finished our first term by welcoming Alei Tzion and Barnet as full members of the United Synagogue. These wonderful communities have shown their commitment to the concept of Community by joining us, and we will now extend a warm invitation to other orthodox communities in London and beyond.”
