Celebration Of North West London Eruv's 4th Anniversary

CELEBRATION OF NORTH WEST LONDON ERUV�S 4TH ANNIVERSARY

The United Synagogue will be celebrating the 4th anniversary of the launch of the North West London Eruv this weekend with a very special �Eruv Shabbat�.

Shuls within the Eruv�s perimeter will be marking the occasion with sermons and shiurim about the transformation of community and shul life since the Eruv�s creation. Dayan Gelley, senior Dayan of the London Beth Din, will be giving a special �Eruv shiur� following the Shabbat service at Golders Green synagogue.

The North West London Eruv Committee will also be distributing over 12,000 fliers across the US community and in local shops and restaurants encouraging members to become an �eruv partner� and support its continued existence which depends entirely on voluntary contributions for its upkeep and maintenance.

Peter Sheldon, Past President of the United Synagogue and Chairman of the North West London Eruv Committee, commented: �Over the past four years, the Eruv has transformed the lives of the thousands of people who benefit from it. It is a particular joy to see the huge number of young mothers, and elderly and handicapped people who are now able to attend shul.

�We need the community�s support to ensure the Eruv�s upkeep and I am confident that this special Shabbat will bring increased recognition of the vital communal facility that it provides�.
