    Description: This exciting and challenging opportunity arises from the anticipated retirement of Syma Weinberg during the course of 2009.

    The successful candidate will make a vital contribution to the work of the Chief Rabbi and his office. In this varied role you will take responsibility for implementing strategy, developing key relationships, managing the Chief Rabbi’s office, and maintaining effective communication with the media.

    If you have strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills combined with a high level of knowledge, experience and understanding of and passion for the Anglo Jewish community, we would like to hear from you.

    You will be experienced in providing professional and strategic advice whilst being sensitive and responsive to religious and political issues inside and outside the Jewish Community, and will display the ability to relate to a range of diverse interest groups.

  • Deputy Manager, St Johns Wood Synagogue Kindergarten

    Description: A dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Deputy Manager is required to join our management team to lead our vibrant modern orthodox Kindergarten and build on its success in providing a warm and caring learning environment for an intake of 48 children, aged 2-5 years, five mornings per week.

    This position is available immediately and will involve management responsibilities, planning and teaching using the EYFS framework. Applicants must have an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

  • Curriculum Team Leaders

    Description: The Jewish Curriculum Partnership (JCP) is now well established in our community. It serves the needs of central orthodox Jewish primary and secondary schools by providing imaginative curricula and associated professional development for all aspects of Jewish Education.

    In order to take the next steps in the development of JCP, we are now looking to appoint two part time Curriculum Team Leaders initially for up to 2 years from January 2009.

    - Chumash Primary to lead a team to further develop the JCP Chumash Primary Curriculum and ensure its successful implementation, which is currently being piloted in a number of schools across London and the regions.

    - Ivrit Primary to lead a team to support primary schools in the development of Ivrit as part of the Government's agenda to establish modern foreign language teaching in all primary schools by 2010.

    Both posts will be based at the AJE offices in London NW4 (Hendon).
